What is Polygon Network?

Polygon Network, commonly referred to as Polygon, is a layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum that aims to provide cheaper and faster transactions. How does Polygon work?

Polygon is a so-called “layer-2” blockchain. A key feature of Polygon is its compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), meaning Polygon can execute Ethereum smart contracts and decentralized applications (dapps) with increased speed and at a lower cost. Furthermore, Polygon maintains compatibility with Ethereum tooling and community resources, further encouraging developer migration and multi-chain Ethereum scaling.
